Welcome to Islam Alive Radio! I am Shamiel Jacobs, a highly experienced media professional with a diverse background that spans for years & being 33 Years in Radio even before Muslim Radio Stations existed in the Cape starting from a Commercial Radio Station in Johannesburg. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working on numerous radio stations and TV stations, nationally and internationally, showcasing my skills as a Host, Producer, and even an Anchor in a Newsroom & guiding the team.

I am proud to have studied Journalism & Media, both nationally and internationally, which has equipped me with a solid foundation in the field. One of my notable roles was serving as the Acting Station Manager of a renowned Radio Station in Gqeberha-Port Elizabeth, where I successfully led a team and hosted various shows, including Drive Time News & Updates.

In addition to my media expertise, I am a committed student of the Quran and have achieved the status of being a Haafith. Completing my Islamic Studies Internationally has further enriched my knowledge and understanding. I embarked on establishing my own private Madrassa, fostering a deeper connection with the Islamic teachings even taught by various institutions.

Currently, I also serve as a Lecturer or Facilitator at an acclaimed Institute for Media, where I have the opportunity to impart my knowledge and mentor aspiring media professionals.

My journey with Islam Alive Radio began on day one alongside the Directors of the station and two other esteemed individuals. Together, we manage and guide the direction of the radio station, aware of the great potential and positive impact it holds.

I am grateful and content with where Islam Alive Radio is heading, and I look forward to the continued growth and success of the station. Alhamdulillah.
